Planning a split system in Artarmon

Federation bungalows on generous garden blocks across the residential side, older red-brick walk-ups and newer apartments near the station, and the separate industrial area keeping to the far side of the suburb. Start with the rooms you want to heat and cool, then check indoor wall space and the outdoor pipe route.

Garden suburb of Federation bungalows on one side of the rail line, with a compact apartment cluster around the station. Include photos of the proposed outdoor position so access, drainage and clearance can be assessed with the room layout.

Scope of work & pricing

What's included, and what moves the price

Every job is a fixed-price quote after an on-site look. Here's what's in scope, and what moves the number up or down.

What this service includes

  • On-site mounting review (wall, outdoor location, refrigerant line path)
  • Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric or Fujitsu inverter indoor head + outdoor unit
  • Refrigerant lines run through wall cavity (no exposed conduit unless unavoidable)
  • Condensate drain to eave or stormwater point
  • Wall bracket or slab for outdoor unit (where required)
  • Electrical connection to existing GPO or dedicated circuit
  • Vacuum and refrigerant charge per manufacturer spec
  • Wireless remote, controller walkthrough, warranty registration

What moves the price up or down

  • Indoor head capacity (2.5kW, 3.5kW, 5kW, 7.1kW, 8kW+)
  • Single-head vs multi-head (number of indoor units sharing one outdoor)
  • Refrigerant line length (longer runs = more pipework + gas)
  • Outdoor unit mounting (wall bracket adds labour + materials)
  • Wall material (brick / weatherboard / fibro / double-storey reach)
  • Existing power supply (new circuit vs existing GPO)
  • Strata or heritage compliance requirements
  • After-hours or weekend install premium

Not included (quoted separately if needed)

  • Plaster repair around indoor head if mounting requires it
  • Painting after install
  • Strata application paperwork (we can supply specs; lodgement is yours)
  • Brick / masonry core-drilling beyond standard wall penetration
  • Decorative line covers (white plastic conduit), quoted separately
  • Annual servicing (sold separately as a maintenance plan)

Frequently asked

Common questions about split system air conditioning in Artarmon

How much does a split system cost in Artarmon including installation?

Single-head: $1,800–$3,200 including installation, depending on capacity. Multi-head (3 heads): $5,500–$8,500 installed. Fixed quote after we see the room and outdoor location.

What outdoor exposure should I allow for in Artarmon?

Artarmon sits inland on the ridge, so salt is a non-issue for outdoor units. What matters instead is the greenery: established street trees and mature bungalow gardens drop steady leaf litter across outdoor coils, and the flat, open blocks give condensers plenty of placement options as long as neighbour noise is thought through.

Single split or multi-head for my Artarmon home?

Compare the rooms used together and the available outdoor positions. Separate splits offer independent systems; a multi-head connects several indoor heads to one outdoor unit. We check the proposed model’s pipe limits and capacity against your layout before recommending either.
