Scope of work & pricing
What your quote covers, and what shapes the price
No line-item surprises. This is the scope we quote against, and the variables that push a job up or down.
What this service includes
- A few sharp questions over the phone so we arrive with the right parts
- Full on-site diagnosis: refrigerant pressures, electricals, controller, coils and fan
- A fixed repair price agreed before tools come out
- Genuine manufacturer parts whenever they are available
- Faults fixed on the spot when the part is in the van
- A load test before we pack up
- Refrigerant topped up and logged once the leak itself is fixed
- A written, photographed report when a landlord, strata or insurer needs one
What moves the price up or down
- A fixed diagnostic fee, credited to the repair if you go ahead
- What the part costs, from an $80 capacitor to a $3,500 compressor
- Labour, with most fixes done inside two hours
- Roof access or working at heights
- Emergency or after-hours callouts
- How far the job is from our base
- Refrigerant by the kilogram once a leak is repaired
- Formal reporting for landlords, strata or insurers
Not included (quoted separately if needed)
- Topping up refrigerant without fixing the leak first
- R-22 gas top-ups, since the refrigerant is phased out
- Whole-system replacement, which gets its own quote
- Roofing or structural work to relocate an outdoor unit
- Asbestos work on pre-1990 properties, which needs a specialist
- Unbranded units with no parts supply
How it works
From first call to handover
- 01
Phone triage
We narrow down the fault before leaving the depot, which is how most repairs finish in one visit.
- 02
Diagnosis
Pressures, electricals, controller, coils and fan all checked on site for a fixed fee.
- 03
Fixed quote
You see the number before we start. If replacing beats repairing, we show the comparison and say so.
- 04
Repair & test
Fixed there and then when the part is on board, then run under load before we leave.
Frequently asked
Common questions about air conditioning repairs
Which air conditioning brands do you repair?
All major brands including Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Samsung, Hitachi, LG and Toshiba, across split, multi-head and ducted systems.
What does a repair call-out cost?
The diagnostic call-out is a fixed fee, and we put it toward the repair if you go ahead. Common parts run $80 to $200 for capacitors, $400 to $1,200 for PCBs and $1,800 to $3,500 for compressors.
Should I repair or replace my system?
A $400 part on an otherwise healthy 8-year-old system is worth it. A $2,500 compressor on a 12-year-old system usually is not. We lay out the numbers and let you decide.
My air conditioner is leaking water. What is wrong?
Usually a blocked condensate drain, occasionally a frozen coil from low refrigerant. Both are quick to diagnose on site and in most cases fixed on the spot.
Do you provide reports for landlords or insurance?
Yes. Every repair comes with a written report covering the fault, parts replaced and photos, suitable for landlord, strata or insurance records.
