Ducted in Bossley Park is a two-storey design job more often than not. The 1970s and 80s family homes have a good pitched roof cavity above the first floor, so the fan coil and the bedroom ducts go in cleanly, and the real work is bringing conditioned air to the ground floor without strangling it. The condenser goes on the southern or eastern side of the house where the wide Bossley Park blocks usually give us room, out of the direct afternoon sun so it runs efficiently through a 40 degree day. In winter the same system heats the house on those clear frosty mornings for a fraction of what portable electric heaters cost. Ducted running cost here is roughly $1–$2 per hour whole-home, and with the unused zones shut it sits at the low end of that range.
