The old wall unit in my terrace has stopped cooling. Is it worth fixing?

It depends on the fault and the unit. A capacitor or contactor on an old split is a cheap repair and usually worth doing. Water is dripping from the indoor unit on humid nights. What causes it?

Long running hours do not break a healthy system, but they do find weak parts. A capacitor that is already failing or a fan motor with worn bearings tends to give out during the first long hot spell, when a closed-up house needs cooling from lunch to midnight. A yearly service catches most of those before they fail, and when they do go, they are usually quick repairs.
